Dutch Day!

Hey! On April 7, PS116 fourth graders had Dutch Day!!! Dutch Day is when the kids dress up like Dutch children and experience how the school day of Dutch students was. It was SO much fun! Even though the consequences were bad, it was still fun experiencing the time! Also, at the end of the day, we had a great Dutch feast! but, during the day, we had to call our teacher Vrouw, if they were a lady, and Miner, if they were a man. We even got to try the punishments! Thats how fun Dutch Day was!

Social Studies

In social studies we are working on articles. It's mostly about colonial times. I've just finished my piece about punishments for New Amsterdam. I also have a short story saying what the punishments the child got for doing something bad. What I like about social studies is going on trips. What's your favorite thing about social studies?

The Sisters Grimm Book 1

The Sister's Grimm is a VERY good series but right now I'm going to talk about the first book in case you did not read it and I would be giving the 2end or 3erd book away. Now there are there two orphans named Sabrina and Daphne. They are both sisters. One day, a woman who claims to be their Grandma. (Even though everyone claims her to be dead.) And they realize that they are related to the famous "Brother's Grimm". And it all leads to a FABULOUS adventure with giants, fairies and other magical creatures....

Recess

I know kids can be very creative. I wanted to know what majority of kids like to play for recess. Tell me what you like to by commenting.

Lice

These are very annoying little insects so I feel sorry if you have lice. You can get a lice comb that will help. Different shampoos help. No matter how wacky this seems, vinegar can help prevent it. Even olive oil! It's almost like you have salad dressing on your head! Cleaning your house and pillows. You can bag your stuffed animals and hats and scarves for two weeks so the lack of air kills lice. I hope you can get rid of lice. If your hair is very unnaturally itchy it might be lice or if you are absolutely sure it's not then you just may be using a bit too much shampoo.

Preventing it

Putting your hair up can help you prevent it. Lice crawl from head to head so try not to tell secrets, or get your head too close to other kids and people in general. You might want to use rosemary shampoos or conditioners and some other types of flavors. I hope you can prevent it.

In 1 month we will be going to 5Th grade and it will be a big step for us that are going to 5Th grade because it is a new challenge for us and it will be fun or not . If i had a chance to choose my middle I will pick east side and i just got pray that i pass 4th grade

Boy Tales of Childhood

First of all I want to dedicate this post to Rachel. She introduced me to this book.

    Which is Boy Tales of Childhood.  It is a book about Roald Dahl's childhood. It teaches you how it would be WAY back in the 1920-1930's  school, the typical family, and how people traveled. It is a VERY exciting, sad and wonderful book. And best of, you understand all his books better!!!! You understand why he wrote his books the way he did. 

    It is a really fascinating book and I hope you will read it!! Also, if you have read it, tell me what you think of it!!

The name of this book is SECRET!!!!

There is this book called The Name of this Book is Secret! It is a really fantastic book! When you first look at it you think it is a ripoff of a Series of Unfortunate Events but it is NOT!!!! It is a exciting book with hangoffs and adventure it goes places you have NEVER imagined, and every page makes you keep on reading!!! It is about these kids that discover a box called the Symphony of Smells and it leads them to an adventure that NEVER stops.

 The sequel to the book is: If You're Reading This It's To Late!

tales of a fourth grade nothing:Matilda by Ronald Dahl

Matilda is the best book in the WORLD!!
I loved it and i just finished(april the 14th), its about this girl who is so smart and her parents are all mean too her. Then she goes to school and finds out about the mean headmistress, that is mean(that means she is very mean if i blogged it twice.)

Then at the end there is a twist but i won't tell you. You have too read it!!

Warriors Series

Hey! Have you heard of the Warriors series? The warriors series is about a cat who used to be a kittypet. He joins a clan named Thunderclan and goes through really big adventures! There is violence and a lot of blood, so I should warn you. l There are betrayles, many deaths, new borns, Twoleg trails, monsters and many more, but this cat always strives for his clan. Go and read the warriors series!

Charlie Bone!!

The  series Charlie Bone is a lot of really good books put together. I have only read the first one so I am only going to tell you about the first one. First of all it is called Midnight For Charlie Bone. It is about a really ordinary kid named Charlie Bone. But one day , he finds out that he is NOT so ordinary, at all. He can tell what people in pictures are saying. Is two REALLY mean aunts find out, and they make him go this genius school called Bloor's Academy. And soon, he is caught in the mystery of one of them..... 

   The sequel to this book is Charlie Bone and the Time Twister

The City Of Ember!!!!

    BEFORE I talk about the City Of Ember, I want to dedicate this post to Mrs.Heaton's class.

Now I will talk about The City Of Ember.   This is a REALLY good book about a city that lives underground. But they do not know  they are, they think Ember is the only thing on the whole planet. But after 270 years, the city is falling apart. They are running low on supplies and the flood lights are starting to flicker....too often. Will two 12-year-old kids save the city?

breakfast and the tests

People allways say that before a test you should eat a healthy breakfast.That means no candy or sweets,but most kids think it's a joke and eat eather candy...or nothing, that makes you have trouble concentrating, especialy before tests.Thats why I believe

jump rope

Most of the girls in my class love to jump rope.I agree,it's my favorite thing to do at recess...and its super fun to do! You can jump rope alone (like in the picture) or you can do it with friends.

tales of a fourth grade:Glasses

If you need glasses tell someone because you will do bad i school if not.
I got my glasses because i couldn't see the board and that can make you do bad in school too. If you think glasses are lame they will look bad on you, well, they don't they are comfy and also they of course help you see and they do look good.
You may need glasses so if you can't see the board in class then talk too your parents about getting glasses:)

CREEPY CRAWLY LICE!!!

In my school LICE is going around. Lice are bugs that live in human hair so they they can live off your blood. If someone has lice it is easy to spread. To not get lice, you have to be super careful. Rarely if you are not making sure you are using bags to keep your stuff in and staying away from peoples hair then youmight get lice. I know a lot of classes have lice but luckily it is starting to go away. If you have lice then you get really ichy on your head. Sometimes even if you don't have lice you can be ichy but not extremely ichy. Lice is a NIGHTMARE!!!

Edward's Eyes ROCKS!!!!

Do you know the book Edward's Eye's????? It is a REALLY good. It is touching, and exiting. (No wonder they choose it for breakfast with books!!) 

    It is a book about a kid named Edward. Ever since he was born, he has been special ever since he was born. He can do ANYTHING and he can cheer ANYONE up. It is an amazing book and I think you SHOULD read it.
