Social Studies and Trips

Have you noticed that most of our trips are for Social Studies?
So far I've noticed that every field trip my class takes is for Social Studies. Every single one of them except for the first one I think. But I'm not good with field trips so I'm most likely wrong. Is it a good thing for every field trip to be Social Studies and personally I think it's fine but some other kids complain about it a lot so... is it?

Lice

These are very annoying little insects so I feel sorry if you have lice. You can get a lice comb that will help. Different shampoos help. No matter how wacky this seems, vinegar can help prevent it. Even olive oil! It's almost like you have salad dressing on your head! Cleaning your house and pillows. You can bag your stuffed animals and hats and scarves for two weeks so the lack of air kills lice. I hope you can get rid of lice. If your hair is very unnaturally itchy it might be lice or if you are absolutely sure it's not then you just may be using a bit too much shampoo.

Preventing it

Putting your hair up can help you prevent it. Lice crawl from head to head so try not to tell secrets, or get your head too close to other kids and people in general. You might want to use rosemary shampoos or conditioners and some other types of flavors. I hope you can prevent it.

Good Job

Everyone is doing so well in school. You guys have been patient and the most wonderful friends.

I wanted to thank you for that and say good job.

So hard?

Now think back to those test months....
You thought test was going to be hard and then when you are doing test prep for the next test you think 'I just am hoping the test comes soon because it's a whole lot easier than this test prep.' Then you think, 'I already took a test and the prep/preparation is whole lot harder so why am I freaking out so much?' Then you realize it's because you are too caught up in the heat. so you try to take it down a little and what do you know? you got a perfect score on your next test and you think, 'I should pass that strategy onto other kids that need help.' You pass on the hint and the world seems perfect just as it used to be before the test. That is wise and good.

Math Compared to Writing

Math is a hard subject but in my opinion much easier than writing. Math has short-cuts that you are allowed to use, in compare to writing. Writing is an activity that requires steps that may not be skipped. I have many reasons not to like writing but there are reasons to like writing as well. For instance you get to express your feelings through words as well as make a whole new door to an interesting world. If you disagree or agree strongly so you want to say something feel free to comment.

Computers

In computers Kathleen will teach you lots of things. She even taught me how to upload the picture of the apple computer next to this text. Kathleen will teach you all you need to know about computers and much much more. If you don't get her first two quarters then you might get her after mid-year switch. Cute little Lizards!!!

Ms. Kim's class got some Anole Lizards! The "zookeeper" (Ellie) came up for recess to take care of the Anole Lizards and took them out once. She let the other kids helping out up there hold the Anole Lizards and when it was time to put them back they wouldn't go back! They loved being held and even fell asleep in some of the students' hands! Unfortunately class 4-218 thinks that the one named "Fred" might die and is not eating. Anyway to stay on the positive side, the lizards are loving every student that comes near them. If you are in another class the lizards just need to see you so they can make friends. These lizards could be the friendliest breed of lizards there ever is. I'm not sure if they are the friendliest breed, but I'm so absolutely sure they love children and students. I mean if these guys didn't like us then I wouldn't be writing nice things about them. These guys are nice and lovely. If you've seen them then who agrees?

The Point of Blogging

As Kathleen always says "I don't want you just to be blogging because I said so. I want to know why you are blogging," so the same people always raise their hands and say the same things:

1. Since it's fun.
2. So we can learn.
3. To share knowledge.
4. To ... ... ...
5. Therefore ... ... ...

The thing I want to know is why aren't there ongoing reasons. No one ever says reasons that weren't already exposed to the open. This is getting a little fishy....

Maybe there are other reasons. Think about it.

Our Time at Recess and Lunch (Such little amount of time)

I personally think we have such little time at lunch and recess. We have only about thirty minutes at lunch and recess together. If you have recess before lunch, this is your schedule:

twenty minutes at recess then three minutes at lunch, and two minutes to get around every where.

Here is the schedule for having lunch first: three minutes lunch, two minutes to get around, and twenty minutes recess.

There is thirty minutes in all for everyone. Most schools have at least an hour for both periods. Do you think that we should mor time? Tell me what you think by posting a comment for this blog.

Reading

You might be asking yourself: "Why is there no reading test?" That's because the way test

makers test your reading skills is through the ELA/writing test. They have you respond to

something you just read so they can see how much you are able to take in and understand.

Therefore they don't need three tests but only two. It was hard for me to figure this out but you

can't combine writing and math. You may think of some way to do it but it's a hard concept and

it will basically never work. If you think of some way there is probably more than one mistake.

Anyway I'm getting off on a tangent so bye for now. Don't forget that logic is the answer. =) :)

Myachi (mee-aaah-chy)

A fun thing to do that everyone likes nowadays is to play Myachi. Myachi is a little sack about

1/4 pounds. It's very light and is in a big variety of colors and designs. You do tricks by throwing

the air different ways. You can throw it under your legs or over your head. It's really hard but 

there are very talented Myachi players. I'm really not good at it but it's fun and addicting. Lots 

of fourth graders set trends and this is probably one of those trends. It is gaining power but

soon it will loose a little more strength and be like clubpenguin but clubpenguin is still really

 cool and fun.(: :)

Fun Stuff

In fourth grade there are a lot of fun things to do. As well as that there are lots of fun kids to make

friends with. If you're in fourth grade you know how fun it is,but if you're not then let me name

some fun things for you to look forward to. Of course you know about the job of taking care of class

pets, but you don't know how most of the pets jump all over you when you open the cage and stick

your hand in so they jump on you. You might also know that you can have a better chance to be an

older reading buddy. To know about more fun things to look forward to wait until you see Fun

Things 2, the second edition. :)

Math

One more step, math. Calm down, it's like the writing except you write about math, not stories in the booklet. It's still a test and you've been through it before. You know exactly what to expect during the test. Actually, you shouldn't be scared at all. You have been through it more than once and more than twice. You even took practice tests and have done a real math test. Don't be afraid, because it will be fine. You are prepared and you are ready. As long as you practiced it will be easier than you think. Don't worry it's going to be fine. You practice and you know the saying "Practice Makes Perfect." It will work fine is what you think and you are right.

Social Studies

In fourth grade usually you will learn about the  Native Americans, or the colonists that came after them. If you're in fourth grade basically all your field trips will be based on the olden times. Something fun that happens is Michelle Yokell gets to teach you. She teaches everything you need to know about pretty much anything-it's awesome! In fourth grade your education is so much more advanced.

Tests

In this year the tests are big, your patience is small, and you're afraid of a three. Your work is coming down in your face. Your not allowed to watch T.V. , you can't play D.S. , and your wii is not allowed to be played until every little piece  of test prep is done. But you have to remember when you get a four you'll be proud. You can't wait until the test is done so you can relax. So remember that all the test practice comes now so you can relax later.

Kids in Need in 4th Grade just like you

     Some kids are just like you and me but in wheelchairs and on crutches. You may make fun of them but it isn't their choice. They are just me and you with different transportation and accessories. They wish they didn't have so many accessories. 

     They have been put in separate schools and classes so we don't make fun of them.

     Do you have Asama or anything (other than being born or getting shots) that sent you to the hospital? Well for these kids they go every week and for some everyday!

     Please don't hurt them more, help them more.
