CREEPY CRAWLY LICE!!!

In my school LICE is going around. Lice are bugs that live in human hair so they they can live off your blood. If someone has lice it is easy to spread. To not get lice, you have to be super careful. Rarely if you are not making sure you are using bags to keep your stuff in and staying away from peoples hair then youmight get lice. I know a lot of classes have lice but luckily it is starting to go away. If you have lice then you get really ichy on your head. Sometimes even if you don't have lice you can be ichy but not extremely ichy. Lice is a NIGHTMARE!!!

4th Grade

Rewards

In my class we started a new rewards system. A lot of classes already have this system. The reward system is ...we earn a STAR every day if we don't get our name on the board. If we get 15 stars we get a prize I am really looking forward to winning 15 stars like a lot of other people in my class because the prizes are really cool!!! The reason for the the stars is because some people keep getting punished for things that they shouldn't be because of about 3 people. Do you suffer other peoples consequences?

Fantasy

Mid-Year Switch

In the middle of the school year you switch specialty classes. In my class almost everyone is hoping for certain specialty classes that they love.This year my classes specialty classes stayed the same except for art switched with science. Some people were happy about the switch but others were disappointed. Would you like this change?

Before Report Cards

At ps116 it is close to report card time. Our teacher had us show her our homework and we are now supposed to put dates on all of our work. We are expected to also have our homework checkers make sure we have all homework with a date and to have all parts completed. Sometimes you are scared that you are missing or don't have completed homework.

About Anole Lizards

hannah s.In my class we just got a class pet. Some things I know about them is they eat live crickets and meal worms too. Also, they can turn from green to brown. Supposivly when they are green they are scared. They are pretty small and like a lot of lizards their tail falls of and regrows if it gets cut off or hurt. Do you have a class pet in your classroom?

Science In 4th Grade

In 4th grade science is really fun. You still win surprises like having popcorn while watching a science related movie but also you get to play games based on what you're studying. I like this idea because you get to learn new things but you are still having fun. Also, if your class stays or earns back 10 points by the end of the class you receive a star to get the movie with popcorn. Do you think this would be or is fun?

Student Teachers

This past week, my class has been having a lot of substitute teachers for some of the day. My teacher has been going to a bunch of meetings and then because of that we have had a bunch of substitutes. Some of the substitute teachers that we had were pretty nice. When you have a substitute they seem like they are doing everything wrong but they really are just doing what they know to be right. When a substitute comes into a room they might not know your teachers rutine. Sometimes you have to give them a chance.

Student Council

In 4th grade it is the first year you are able to be a part of the student council. Of course not everyone can get a part in this but some people do get to be a part in student council. The way some classes figure out who is going to be the two representatives and one alternate is by having an election like the presidents do. As you probably know Obama just got president elect. Cool Big Field Trips

In 4th grade you have some BIG field trips. Maybe a little smaller than the 5th grade end of the year trip where you can spend a night in the forest and sleep in sleeping bags but these trips a pretty big. You can go to Phillisburg Manor on the metro north or going to the tip of New York to study Lenape Indians. Are there any other field trip recommendations that you have?

Jungle Gym

Is your favorite game at recces a game that you need the jungle gym for? Well, in 4th grade you can't use the jungle gym. It's the first year you're not allowed. I have a game that I like to play but I can't play it without the jungle gym. Why aren't we allowed?

4th grade trouble

In fourth grade you might realize that you get a lot more homework. In lower grades you have to do homework but it is a little easier and you have less of the work. When you are in 4th grade you have more of almost EVERYTHING. You have to do writing, reading, math, word study, social studies and, you need to remember all the notes.If you do not do your homework you get a missing homework slip. Then you have to stay and do your missing homework at the quiet table. Sometimes 4th grade is hard.
